Destination Albion Park
Shellharbour Council is seeking your views on draft concept plans for the Destination Albion Park project.

The $3.3 million project is aimed at dramatically revitalising the Albion Park town centre through the creation of a distinctive main thoroughfare.

Council engaged an urban design team from GHD to develop the draft concept plans for the project.

We\'ll be calling for comments at different stages of the project however with construction expected to begin in November it is vital the community has a say on the initial concept plans.

Federal Member for Throsby, Jennie George MP is supportive of the Destination Albion Park project which is being funded through the Australian Government’s Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program.

Submissions on the draft concept plans must be in writing and addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 155 Shellharbour City Centre, 2529, or emailed to records@shellharbour.nsw.gov.au by Friday 9 October 2009.

Click on the links below to access the various draft concept plans. Hard copies are on display at Albion Park library and Council\'s administration centre.

You can also find out more, and have your say, at a community barbie forum to be held in Mood Park at Albion Park on Thursday 1 October from 12 noon to 2pm.

Information sessions will also be held at Albion Park library on Tuesday 6 October and Thursday 8 October at 6pm.
Throsby Community Spirit and Leadership Awards
Throsby Community Spirit and Leadership Awards

These awards acknowledge students who contribute actively to their school community, and indeed their wider community by, for example, volunteering for school activities and helping other students to be more involved in school life.

Often, students who excel academically and in the sporting arena receive accolades. While such accolades are undoubtedly deserved, the Throsby Community Spirit and Leadership Awards seek to recognise students whose contributions may be less immediately obvious but just as valuable.

Every school in the electorate of Throsby is invited to select one student to receive this Award. The selection process is left up to the individual school – bearing in mind the spirit of the awards.

The nominated students are presented with certificates at an official ceremony, to be attended by their families, friends and school mentors.
